A new year!

OK, it’s not a new year yet, but its close and we have accomplished so much this past year and we are so thankful for the support of our library patrons.

Thanks to you we’ve accomplished the impossible! Computer services, training, updates, access, and in dozens of other ways your donations have enriched our community as a whole and as individuals. That’s a fact.

We couldn’t do it without you.

In the past year we have added employment services to help those without jobs update their computer skills and search for meaningful work. We have provided access to those in need and beautified the grounds of all of our branches. And yet there is still much work left to be done. With your continued support we can reach many more people.

At the Community Library Network it’s all about the community. All of us together. Please take a moment and fill out the enclosed donation form. A gift of any amount (tax deductible) will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your past and continuing, support in this great work that we do!

KSAL Foundation becomes CLN Foundation

With the recent rebranding of KSAL, it is time for the foundation to rebrand their site as well. Along with the rebranding, and the subsequent domain / address / and hosting changes, we have taken the initiative to modify the style and layout of the site. These changes allow us to upgrade the WordPress engine, which is the power behind the scenes, while upgrading the CSS and HTML as well. (The stuff that makes it all look so cool!)

Life is full of cascading changes. Mostly these changes come with fear, but rest assured, the changes at your Community Library Network, and the foundation that supports it, are all for the good, and will be painless. The new set of clothes are minor visible revisions in comparison to the greater service and broader network coverage we now offer.

We hope that this new site will be frequented by the community as we all try to make our libraries the envy of the tri-state area. Please feel free to comment, ask questions, and participate in all we offer the community.

We thank you for your continued support, and look forward to prosperous years ahead for everyone.

Working hard for you!

LOOK WHAT THE KSAL FOUNDATION IS UP TO:

  • The Landscaping for Hayden and Rathdrum was financed by our patrons and it will be an ongoing project for a while to come. New bushes, trees, flowering plants and greenery of every kind. With the new additions and construction completed in our libraries the outsides will now be as beautiful as the inside.
  • The special furniture for the libraries teen areas is being used and appreciated.
  • Athol is getting a new bike rack.
  • Harrison is getting a new bike rack and a storage building
  • Hayden will get courtyard seating
  • Outreach(Bookmobile) will receive a digital camera and a small electric vacuum. (Because even a library on wheels needs to be kept up to public standards!)
  • Pinehurst has received a new flagpole
  • Rathdrum will receive a free standing coat rack
  • In Spirit Lake, a custom shelving area in the children’s area will be a welcome addition.
  • Youth Services received two digital cameras.
  • Hayden Young Adult area received new furniture.
  • Each KSAL branch received a new story time rug for programs.

These items have all come from the individual libraries’ “Wish Lists.”

The KSAL FOUNDATION is very happy to be able to provide these things to the library branches. As we all know, Libraries are more then just books. They are extensions of your home and our home. They are places to learn, relax, and broaden our minds.

We are able to do this because of our patron’s generous donations.

You can help in the future by donating to the KSAL foundation. Look for donation envelopes at any Kootenai-Shoshone Area Library or donate online using the button at the top of this page.
